Formed in Westwood, CA in 2011, The Ten Thousand is an alternative/rock/electronic band that creates a hi-energy, raw, and emotional musical experience. Refusing to rely on any auditory smoke or mirrors, The Ten Thousand is a live act to be reckoned with. The members’ multi-genre musical backgrounds (jazz, rock, punk, indie) foster a talent pool that results in unique melodies, distinct vocal harmonies, explosive rhythms, and experimental instrumentations. Following the release of garage rock/indie inspired debut EP “Nobody Gets Hurt” in 2012, The Ten Thousand released their darker, heavier “Nausea” EP in early 2014. The Ten Thousand's recent electronic push landed them a coveted slot at Low End Theory in April 2014. The band directed and self-produced a music video for "City of Angles," which was featured on MTVU.

Their first single for London Tone Music and their 52x52 launch is called Leg. Drummer Garrett Harney, discusses the origins of the song, “Leg was inspired by an item on the dollar menu at El Pollo Loco. You can simply order "leg" from their menu and we thought that was hilarious. You don't even have to say 'can I please have A leg?' You just say "I'll have leg, and a taco, etc." Now, I don't get anything else at El Pollo Loco. Really, though, we were inspired by the idea of adding some quirkiness to the pop format. We wanted to make a song that was quirky and intricate while still relatable to anyone.”

The band also described their experience working with producer, Eric Lilavois, at Crown City Studio as great. “It's always a joy for us to be able to track live as a full band, especially in a studio with such welcoming, warm vibes. Eric is a great collaborator/engineer/producer and working with him, Andrew, and Joe was a great experience. They were all very accommodating hosts and responsive to our production needs and ideas. A mutual respect between everyone flowed throughout the project-couldn't have asked for a more friendly environment to record a single!”
