The first thing you hear is the voice. Jeremy Serwer has one of those once in a lifetime voices that make grown men cry. Where blue eyed soul meets edgy Americana (Martin Sexton), where blues meets country (Richard Buckner), where roots meets rock (The Jayhawks), Jeremy stands on the shoulders of these greats in homage to offer his version of the truth.
Not to be confused with a songwriter that bursts onto a scene and then just as quickly disappears, Jeremy has been quietly and consistently making records and touring nationally for over 10 years. Never one to stay too long in one place, he dominates local scenes wherever he lands, whether in collaborative efforts (Rich Man's Burden, Acoustic Minds, SeaShell Radio), or solo performances and recording.
CDBaby chose Jeremy's 2010 release "Roads," (produced by Michael Connelly at Empty Sea Studios) as one of their featured recordings. Alex Woodward wrote: “There’s something immediately gripping about Jeremy Serwer’s voice; it’s got just the right amount of gravel to complement his soulful timbre, or the female vocals who accompany him on several tracks...Album highlights include the haunting soul of “Dirty Entity” and the lovely “Bare Witness” which recalls Elliott Smith’s gorgeous melancholy. In 2014 Jeremy signed with London Tone Music group as part of their 52x52 launch. His first single, “Tender Feet”, produced by Jonathan Plum at London Bridge Studio is a haunting, evocative folk-rock track, highlighted by Jeremy’s beautiful, expressive vocals.
